HiPoTeSis approved by Interreg Atlantic Area: strengthening floating offshore wind test infrastructure across Europe

FOW SEM-REV

The HiPoTeSis project – High Power Test Sites to consolidate industrialisation of FOW in Europe – has just been approved by Interreg Atlantic Area under its 3rd call for proposals! Led by Fondation OPEN-C, HiPoTeSis brings together 9 pioneering organisations from 7 countries, united by a shared ambition : to accelerate the industrialisation of floating offshore wind (FOW) through strong transnational collaboration.

While the deployment of Floating Offshore Wind (FOW) is gaining momentum, Europe still lacks test sites capable of hosting next-generation turbines (>10 MW). HiPoTeSis will address this by:

  • Creating a coordinated Atlantic partnership focused on innovation in FOW
  • Preparing the ground for shared transnational testing infrastructures
  • Providing operational responses to common challenges faced by test sites

This project is above all a collective effort. Each partner brings unique experience and expertise to build a coherent, complementary and forward-looking vision for testing high-power floating technologies in Europe:

We are proud to play our part – and even prouder to do it together. The future of floating offshore wind will be built through cooperation, knowledge sharing and trust, and HiPoTeSis is a major step in that direction.
